gone:mb c,lexus gs; owning:2012 a6 prestige
compression ratio of m272/276/278
m272 10.5:1
m276 12.2:1
m278 10.8:1

does anyone know why m276 ratio is so much higher? thanks!!

M276 is direct injection naturally aspirated. M278 is also direct injection but has twin turbos so the compression ratio is slightly lower.
