Got a new ride
Hi everyone, I have been following this forum for a while - occasionally getting my wife (BenzBee) to post here. In 2008 I joined the BMW fold but after endless problems with the car it was time to move on.
Thanks to everyone on here I heard my potential replacement car was in short supply. So my wife went to our dealer's sales department when she had her Benz in for service, the news was as posted on here - the E550s are in short supply and there might be a possibility to custom order if we ordered a car right away. The day after Thanksgiving we went to the dealer to test drive etc.
The news was sad- no cars in the system that could be customized. However, the dealer had one E550 that was about to come into stock that was not spoken for....Long story short - we were able to secure the E550 - at what we consider a fantastic deal.
The specs are:
Iridium Silver
Black leather/Black ash Wood Trim/Black Headliner
Premium 1 Package
Lighting Package
Lane Tracking Package
Key Less Go
Panoramic Sun Roof
Split Folding Seats
Driver Side Multicontour Seat.

Thanks everyone - this car drives like a dream. I cannot get over how smooth the engine is. I also love the subtle rumble of the exhaust.
Of course some idiot decided to come to a dead stop on a off-ramp so the pre-safe got a good workout.

Thank you - no I did not. I called them about pricing and they were telling me that it would be a good deal to get $3,000 off. Since we have a good relationship with the local dealer, I went there. The one at Alexandria was quite similiar so - more options and burl wood instead of black ash.
