Service insterval by months or miles?

The book seems to say which ever comes first but if that is case, for those driving less than 7,000 miles per year or less could end up servicing the car twice year! What do you guys think?

How so? If you drive less than 10k a year you do the service once a year. If you drive more than 10k a year you do it every 10K. Basically every time you service the car both the miles and time reset so you have either 10k miles or another year from the last service.

It's every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. I drive about 3,000 per year and my service reminder comes on about 20 days before the year is up. So, get it serviced once per year.
