I was discussing something with them and mentioned the W212 console mount and they came back with a recommendation.
Google Mercedes Benz E-Class 2010-2014 Proclip Console Mount. My iPhone 5 holder is the one with the ability to hold it with an Otterbox Commuter case.
The holders and mounts are separate items.

It is the best. I have one.

Wonder why they would discontinue that model...not enough buyers for it must be?

Finally, I found one that works great for me. It's called the imagnet... not sure if you guys heard of it but anyway, here's their link.

Must say this thing is awesome, installed it a few days ago, and love it!!!!! Wanted something eye level and this fits the bill. Sturdy and well built, with a lot of great reviews.....Thanks for posting this!!

I'll chime in if it somehow turns out to be a POS

It is still available via Brodit in Germany. See https://www.brodit24.de/Brodit-ProCl...chparam=854331. I just purchased it for $30 from an eBay seller in Germany.

I like the Pro Clip. It is unfortunate their design for my new C43 is ugly. I have to move to another solution.

I found a clip on ebay that works with a garmin dash mount. That way no suction mount on the windshield or dash and no blocked vents.

To tell you the truth - not sure yet. I'll have to see how big the base unit is and figure out where's the most non intrusive location to stick the base.

Well let me know as I ordered one as well. Looks like a great solution. Since it articulates so well might find a spot on the outside bezel of the command display?

Will do! I sure hope this one works out so I can stop buying contraptions to make it work.

We use this in my wife's car and also take it with us traveling - just make sure you stick the metal plate to the inside of your phone case and not the phone... real pain to remove otherwise

Koomus Magnetic CD-Slot Smartphone Holder from Amazon

I purchased the Koomus Magnetic CD-Slot holder. I had a similar holder for my Jeep Wrangler, but it's bulk as you will see in the pictures interfered with the volume knob. I know volume is on the steering wheel but sometimes passengers want to control the volume too and this did not allow them to do so. So I purchased the more sleek version from Koomus which is actually a tad bit nicer as it's a quick release instead of a threaded screw knob. It also will fit in more than just the center of the CD Slot.

I know some old school people still listen to CD's but I do not. I'm strictly FM/AM, or Spotify. I don't even own CD's anymore. Many I ripped to a hard drive and uploaded a copy to Google Play so I can listen from anywhere (that has a wifi connection).

So here are a few pics of the old holder and the new holder installed:

Koomus with metal insert for the phone.

Koomus installed in the CD Slot

iPhone magnetically on the holder with lightning cable plugged in.

Back of the Koomus with the quick release.

My old device that interfered with the volume knob.

I have a Sema case that is leather with slots where you can put credit cards in, but I just slip in the metal piece that the magnet interacts with. Hope this helps you guys still looking for something.

Thanks for posting install photos. Do you need to remove all CDs before using one of these? I don't listen to them much but I have a few CDs in there all the time.

Also, I assume the metal piece interferes with NFC. I wonder if it would work through a thicker otterbox case.
