Cinturato P7 All Season Plus
Anyone using these tires?
I am trying to buy a set on tirerack but they don't offer the stock AMG 18" tire size which are 245/40-18. The size which they have are 225/45-18, 235/45-18, 235/50-18, 245/45-18, and 245/50-18.
I asked for help on tirerack and was advised that they don't know if it will rub or not and I should contact Pirelli. Which I did and they advised me I need to contact MB and I did and they advised me to get 245/40-18.
I searched the forum and the closest thing I could find was a thread started by MinnBobber indicating the size of 235/45-18 and he didn't say if this would fit or rub.
Anyone running other 18" tire sizes that can help? I am using the AMG 18" wheels.

Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a REAL SET of tires, not some knock off Cinturato garbage. Take it from me I've had 4 sets of ****ty no name tires and I dreaded everyday I had them.
Buy the RIGHT SIZE for your car, not anything else, you will throw off the speedo, the gas mileage, put excess stress on suspension components, rub your wheel wells to death, your engine will turn lower rpm's and feel sluggish.
Get a set of Michelins and be happy.

I just put on a set of Conti Extreme DWS two weekends ago right before the storms here in Boston. Stock size, 245/40-18. I chose this type of tire because I do not have storage where I live to keep real winters, so I went with an all season snow rated tire. I'm pretty happy with the results so far and they really are quieter on the highway than I thought they would be.

The Michelin as3 are on sale at costco with the $70 off. It's about 890 installed for 4. Anyone have experience with the 70,000 mile continentals pro contacts.? I drive 35k a year. These are diff than the 40k oem ones.
I had dws on my old w211 but 3 burst at diff times from pot holes. I Can't trust that tire anymore but it has great reviews.

I've been through Continental Contiprocontacts and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's...
The Continentals had some unusual wear in the front tires half-way through their life and I had to replace them with another set; the Michelins became unbearably noisy at highway speed at about 6/32's.
I did a LOT of research on tires this next go-round to find the quietest and best riding tires on the market. As I am typing this reply I'm sitting in the waiting room at I. G. Burton Mercedes-Benz in Milford, DE. I'm having a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 All-Season PLUS 255/40R19 tires mounted and road-force balanced followed by a four-wheel alignment. I chose these particular tires because they are rated head and shoulders above the comparable (aforementioned) Continentals and Michelins, with comparable performance (in an all-season grand touring tire.). Inherently, the aspect and size of these tires is going to be noisier than that of a narrower tire, but my priorities are ride, quiet and comfort.
Tire Rack's consumer reviews of these model tires is off the charts, which may explain why they were back ordered out of stock for two months:

They are also warrantied for 70K miles.
I'll give more feedback once I get on the road with the new shoes.

Just got back in the car I put about 10 miles on it along country roads and I have to say AMAZING! The tires are whisper quiet and the ride is nothing short of wafting. A quantum leap from the Pirelli P6's that were on here before and to my recollection much better than the Michelin's or the Continentals I had previously.
I'll update after another couple thousand miles to give more feedback on performance, handling, treadwear, etc.

Did you see the Conty's Purecontact w/Ecoplus, which is also an A/S Grand Touring tire? Tirerack consumer surveys seem to indicate it's quieter and better ride quality than the Pirelli Cinturato (run flat and non-run flat) - while coming in $200-450/set of 4.

My S550 requires a 255/40R19...that Continental model is not available in that size.
Did you review the reviews on the Cinturato P7 "PLUS"? It's rated #1 in the category.
I put 200-miles on the car today, mixed highway and surface streets and country roads. These tires performed BEAUTIFULLY. I am very pleased.

I am running the P7 plus on my e350 after my MXV4's gave out at 35k miles. The first thing I noticed was how quiet the tires were in comparison to my Michelin (even when they were new) and how the tires literally stick to the road like Velcro. Gone is the soulless feeling of driving on pillows. The steering response is much tighter and the car corners better too. I had the 245 65 r17's installed at Midas (half the price Mercedes wanted) and I keep the rears inflated at 35 and the front tires at 33. I am averaging 40 mpg at 70 mph on the highway. As far as wet traction is concerned. Two weeks ago I drove through a severe thunderstorm that forced most drivers to idle on the side of the road with their hazards flashing; my car churned along at regular speeds while Slayer filled the cabin.

@Chesapeake - Sorry, I didn't realize you were posting about a S-class w/19's in the E-class forum. My bad!
For what it's worth, it's odd that Pirelli's Cinturato A/S rate differently (and lower in this case) in different sizes.

The Cinturato p7 A/S is simply an oem specification tire built to a price, the plus version is what Pirelli wants to compete in the grand touring category.

This P7 plus has been rated very highly among some Tesla owners who installed it after Goodyears and Michelins as well.
Tire noise is the loudest noise you hear on the Tesla since there is no drive train noise, so the quietest tire is a big deal.
