That's a wonderful idea! I kind of wish it was summer though, it gets pretty dark around 5 and by the time dinner is done I feel maybe they won't "see" the car in all its glory. Maybe I'm thinking too much into it. I will keep it on my list though, thank you.

That's what I was thinking, great idea just tweak the timing. Now if only the weather would cooperate. The weather has been pretty messy around the northeast, but it will give my dad a chance to experience the 4Matic!

FYI: If anyone is looking for a new 2013 E550
Not sure where you are located. Last week when I visited my local dealer, they had a 2013 E550 4matic on the lot. Brand new. $71+ MSRP, the sales person I spoke to said they will easily knock $20k off for anyone that wanted it. making it just over $51k for a brand new 2013.
This is in Central CA if you are interested.

"This E550 has a retail price of $71,510. The invoice is $67,264, I can sell it for $62,670 plus fees and you pay the shipping. I have two pre-owned E550’s if you are interested."
I didn't push the price since I was happy with the CPO car we had found in terms of options, colors etc. If anyone is interested this can be a good jumping of point. I can give you the guys name if anyone needs it.

So I followed up on this a day ago with a gentleman at the Mercedes-Benz of Monterey since it peaked my curiosity and this is what he had e-mailed back to me:

That's why I said if someone local wanted a E550 they could get a good deal on it.

Yeah that dealership is like that. My parents live 1.5 hours away from me and they tried to buy a car from MB of Monterey and the sales manager wouldn't give them the same discount they would give me on the same car. The reason they gave is that I live local so they can sell to me at a lower price and make up for it later with warranty service and maintenance. My parents don't live here and there are 5 MB dealers closer to them (one within a 5 minute drive) so they would do all future repair and maintenance there instead of with mb of monterey so no change for them to make more $$ later.
That's why I said if someone local wanted a E550 they could get a good deal on it.

They may also first think that the valet brings a wrong car and it kind of takes a step away from the surprise when your parents need to be explained probably twice that the car is their present. When they find it in their own garage it takes very little explanation and the "surprise meter" hits 100% instantly.
And for the weather, everything will heat up really nicely when the garage door opens and thy see the car, no winter cold felt on that moment.
But what ever way you do it the moment will be awesome! Wish you could have their neighbor or someone secretly film the moment too...

I would tend to agree with Arrie. Don't over think this. Have the camera ready to go and post pictures! Thanks. Regards. Ned.
