Has anybody tried any sound deadening in their car to reduce road noise?

Just wondering if anybody has used something like dynomat or damplifier pro onto their w212. I did a search around and its not very popular i guess. The road noise at +65mph bothers me a lot and want to see if anybody has any solutions to the road noise.

I already changed my tires, which helped but looking at more sound isolation.

Thanks! I am just hoping damplifier pro and a layer of luxury pro won't be too thick for the doors and wheel wells..

i think the seal at the bottom of the drivers door wears out quickly. I have noticed that I can feel a slight draft from the bottom of the door in the cold.

If the door seal is defective, MB should cover its replacement under warranty.

Also try to look into the tires, many times the road noise could be contributed by the tires. If the tires are worn down due to mileage, they would get more noisy. If they are performance-oriented tires, they could be more noisy in general.

At last, a slim chance, but doesn't hurt to check is the wheel bearings. Faulty/damaged/worn wear bearings will generate quite some noise too, and is often unsuspected.

I can definitely say that tire choice changes the noise level in the cars cabin.

Right now, I am using Blizzak snow tires and the noise level is 'louder' than compared with Z-rate sports tires.

After I changed to conti dws, the noise became a lot less. However, right now I'm looking for the level of S class silence. I just want a much more silent interior and I heard that only sound deadening material can do this... but they are a pain to install.

You just answered your question. On a recent trip the road noise was VERY noticeable but only on certain surfaces/stretches of road. The tires would literally 'sing' in one lane and be quiet on the lane next to it. I usually cruise at 75 to 85 (depending on state). Is your noise constant regardless of road finish?

There will still be a decent amount of noise when going 75+. I can hear that most of the noise is coming from the front and back wheel wells as well as the doors.. This is what prompted me to try those materials.

Have you been rotating your tires? Have you had the alignment checked?
