2013 E350 Sport Wagon - 4Matic
Thank... That was quite impressive! However, I still don't know if it's mandatory or if the dealer "prefers" one to sign it.

Presumably the dealer could refuse to sell you the car if you don't sign it. But then you could also take your business elsewhere.
I suggest to the read the fine print (if it isn't horrifically long, which it probably is). It might actaully end up being okay....

Have you tried saying No and seeing what happens? It's not like they'll refuse to let you reconsider if it is indeed mandatory.

If you're dead set against signing it find a dealer that it's not mandatory if they refuse to sell you the car. Then tell the dealer that refused to waive the mandatory signing you'll see them for warranty service Signing it can't over ride the Lemon Law so I don't think you're giving away much anyway.

Are you not having this car shipped to you from another state across the country? (if I remember correctly?) I would not worry to much about it. Or better yet, leave it out when you return the paperwork and see if they notice it missing. If they call you out about not signing it, tell them you refuse to sign it. See what happens.
