Comand and iPhone
So I was playing around with the Comand system on my cousin's 2012 E350 coupe today. When trying to connect his iPhone (5S) to Comand, we experienced a message that stated that the mobile phone connected was not compatible. He said he has had this issue since day 1 which surprised me. Are we doing something wrong or this this indeed true?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I was referring to utilizing the cellular service from an iPhone to access Comand Online. I'm not sure all of the Comand Online capabilities as we have not been able to get the feature to work on my cousins coupe.
Mercedes sure has a jumble of connectedness features.
From what I can see here (http://techcenter.mercedes-benz.com/...ne/detail.html) Command Online is their collection of internet apps. Weather, internet radio, a browser.
In my 2014 E250 these use the car's built-in internet connection. Because of this, it's very very slow. Pretty unusable actually. The weather comes up after a minute or so - contrasted with the Sirius weather function that comes up immediately. Why do they offer both?
Also, the "internet radio" app always fails in my car.

The comand isn't a complete bag of fail, but it has its issues.
I have only gotten the media interface and Bluetooth, no internet or Sirius. Not surprising that it is slow.
I had to get the comand updated to get BT working properly. It was covered under warranty. It helped with some nav issues as well, but searching poi is still bad.
BTW this is with galaxy s3 and an old ipod. My wife has 5s, I'll try hers out soon.

According to a Merc dealer, in the States, Comand Online works through Mbrace and not a phone's cellular service. This is a shame as it limits data speeds (which I'm assuming will be really slow).
