1St Class Tire+Rim Protection was worth it for me recently...

This has been a rough Winter and during the first snow fall I scrapped my Right Hand side tires and rims on a parking lot curb. Both front and rear tires had a slight tear but they were not deep enough to cause any flat.

At the last service on the 6th Feb, I asked the SA to check the tires to see if they qualify for a claim on the First Class Tire+Rim Protection that I've purchased.

He said "No".

Two days later I hit a port hole and blew the front tire.
I called MBrace Roadside Assistance and had my car towed to a M-B dealer around 30 KM away.

Unfortunately it was a Sunday and the dealership was closed so I could not get a loaner.

The next day I called the dealer and emailed them a copy of my coverage.
It seemed that the rim was also dented so I got new set of rim + Winter tire!

The total costs was just under $800.00! + the cost of the tow covered by Roadside Assistance.

I paid $940.00 for the 60 months coverage so it was well worth it.

Also my set of Winter tires and rims were bought used from my M-B dealer for only $1,000.00 when I got my car last year.

Man I sure hope Winter will go away soon...

Cheers

Two days after my last service

Paid $565. for 3 years. In 3 years, 3 Pirelli tires replaced and 2 straightened AMG wheels. I would say I got my moneys worth.

Awesome! I went with the rim damage here in NE but passed on the tire warranty due to purchasing new tires separately. AMG rims are pricey to replace.

Strange that the dealer didn't try to straighten the bent rim and chose to replace both rim + tire!

But I'm not complaining...

Now I have another 52 months of protection left!

The roads and highways here are severely damaged by pot holes this Winter so I now drive more carefully and have to take evasive actions to avoid them.

Hope I don't have to file another claim before this Summer.
