Hood Alignment

I just purchased 2011 E350 bluetec CPO and got delivered today (over the phone transaction) and i just noticed that the hood is not aligned very well... i mean the driver side is flush to front quarter panel but it is not flush and has some gap (seems like hood is not closed all the way...) on the passenger side...

is this normal or sign of accident involvement? I checked out the carfax history (i know it is not 100% accurate though) and it was clean.

can this be adjusted?

That happened to me and I thought the same thing. Easy fix. Lift the hood up about a foot, then slam it back down . Everything will be aligned. The hoods are double jointed so they don't close well if you do it gently. Trust me.

I can put a paint meter on it and see if it is ever been painted.

Don't adjust your hood just lift it high and slam it down tight and with a little oomph.

Funny, I noticed that at a rest stop a week ago, and did a good slam, and fixed it too.

This happened to me too. Just slam it hard and will align itself.

I have the same problem on my 2010 e350 that i bought three days ago. I know the car wasn't involved in an accident. I thought somebody tried to close the hood with something on its way.

I will try that as soon as i get home.

Update: Problem solved. Thanks. This was the only thing bothering me about the car along with costly nav. updates.
