I traded my 2011 E350 4MATIC

Sport Package
P2 Package
Pano Roof
AMG Wheels
40k miles

I got $30k for it on the trade in. The dealership originally offered 25k. I told them no I'll head over to Carmax. Before I could leave the Sales Manager said we'll do 30k. They have it listed as CPO for $34.9k. Always good luck with using Carmax as a bargaining chip.

This is unusual for a Mercedes dealership. I wonder what changes were made. This is the first time I have ever been offered pennies for my trade.
It is not a good business for a Mercedes dealership. IMO.
My offer is not set in stone because it will be a couple weeks before the car gets here, so for some reason I am now doubtful that they will honor that offer when the car arrives.

I have purchased in multiple markets and think it varies. When I lived in the Tulsa market there was little to no negotiation. They were the only Benz dealer in town. In OKC, I expected the same as Tulsa but was pleasantly surprised when on 2 occasions I told them what Carmax offered and they said we can do that. With USAA pricing and incentives I knew I wasn't getting it too bad elsewhere in the deal.

I recently moved to Atlanta which has 4 dealerships. I was expecting to use that as leverage but it didn't work. 2 wouldn't even offer the USAA pricing unless they had the car on the lot. That left me down too 2 dealers. Both offered the same pricing for the new car, but one wouldn't budge on the $25k for the trade. Played the Carmax card and one caved. It never used to be this hard to buy a Benz IMO.

lol, exactly. It has always been good money for my trade and good price for the vehicle using USAA.
I know that most E buyers are rich and they probably could care less about a few thousand dollars either way, but some of us are purchasing Mercedes vehicles while earning a small active duty pay check.
