The biggest rattle in my car right now is my 2 year old daughter relentlessly kicking the back of my seat as she sits in her car seat, lol.... I love her too much to care!

The seatbelt height adjuster is the only thing in my E63 wagon that rattles if the rear video screens are in reasonable positions.

Im really getting annoyed by that particular high-pitched rattle. I'm really curious how I can apply felt tape to sort it out. I was considering putting a small amount of silicone lubricant in it.

E350 Rattles!

I have to say that I am not impressed at all with my 2013 E350 sport. I am new to MB and was expecting a much higher level of comfort and satisfaction from their vehicles. The only thing that I notice on this car that is at all better than previous vehicles is the clunk of the front doors when you close them. Sounds very solid. That's it. I really hate this car. Just reading through previous posts I can feel the pain of some of the posters here that have the same issues that I have. The seats pop when turning and going over bumps. The console creaks and pops at various times. The clatter of the gas engine is ridiculous. The most annoying one by far is the creak/rattle hybrid from the pillar trim in the back. It rubs against itself and the package tray to make this car a truly miserable experience to drive. My hopes that MB dealers would be a breath of fresh air from my lifetime of dealing with GM dealers was crushed when I took the car in twice to fix the pillar rattle only to find out that they didn't do anything but shoot some black goo where the clips go on one of the pieces. It almost sounded worse when I got it back. All in all, I am almost certain that I won't be buying another MB product again. My Camaro SS convertible was a much more solid (and fun) car to drive. And yes, I'm serious.

Well to add to series of experiences, my 2014 E350 Sport has been exceptionally quiet and rattle free over my short 2 month ownership. It is definitely a lot quieter than my previous C55 AMG, so much so that I frequently drive with the radio off, even though that too sounds better in the E. I don't really notice the engine unless I accelerate very aggressively over 3.5-4k rpm when I can hear it, but even then its not loud.

'12 E63. Pano creaks despite having it recently adjusted/torqued. Have a rattle from the back right seat/door area I haven't been able to track down yet; tons more annoying than the roof.

I have a 2011 E350 and the darn thing is pretty quiet. The only things that plagues me is that the clips that hold on the wood trim in the door panels seems to come loose - so when I turn, the clips slide around the bottom of the door.

R&R the door panel and done.

Right on man!

Same experience here. $70000 car and rattles inside worse than 1/3 valued any new car. And I drive a lot of them as rental cars.

The 2011 E350 that I had was exactly the same for this problem.

That right rear rattle could be the fuel door lock plunger. I had that.

Only occasional pop from my 212 pano going up my drive at an angle when it's cold. Otherwise both my 211 and 212 are dead silent. These things are built to be quiet too. I was very impressed when I removed the door panels, each door clip had a rubber deadener and the door card had a rubber deadener that cushioned it from the door.

Ha! My shadow (six year old son) is prone to the same issue. The kicking doesn't bother me as much as the cleanup of the back of the seat that follows.

My 2013 E350 Sport has "0" rattles or other strange noises. My 2008 Bluetec was also extremely quite. The 2001 SLK 320 gives me a little noise when I go over a speed bump.

My 2010 E550 has a rattle somewhere near the rear sunscreen, the driver's seat belt height adjuster, and the passenger headrest. At times there's something in the area of the steering column and gauge cluster. I'll try to track them down and fix them at some point.

Just got a new (to me) 2014 E350 last week, and have been hearing these creaks and squeaks too in the same location(s); haven't been able to narrow them down. Driving me insane!!

Yes, I agree---very annoying, especially on a $73k car of this caliber.

I would have to say am (surprisingly) very impressed with my new purchase for the most part, very solid and smooth and quiet...except for the aforementioned, unfortunately.

I just completed an online JD Power survey for M-B, rating my experience with NVH on a one-year old E-Class. There were several questions asking to identify noises and their likely source, as well as seat issues, interior display problems, etc. They definitely has a shopping list of specific items and issues to ask about.

I hope you were frank, candid, and honest with them. They definitely need to know about this kinda stuff.

You really summed it up but # 5 is the best one because it's so true. I can't tell you how many times in the (automotive) service area I've heard people say "I spent $$$$ not to have these rattles" and "If I wanted rattles I would have bought a Pinto"

MB’s of all kinds.
My W212 has been pretty damn good. Wood trim in center area rattles and clocks but I put the felt behind it and has been fine. I also had an awful rattle behind the navigation screen. I took the bezel off and put some insulation in there and it is silent now.
