Bent AMG Wheels
I am the second owner of my 2010 E 350 and I took the car to get an alignment because I felt a slightly rough ride at speeds around 70mph. The wheel shop told me that two of the rims were very bent and that is definitely what is causing the problem. I have the MB extended warranty.
My question is will the extended warranty cover the bent rims?
What has anyone else done who has encountered this problem?
Thanks
Bent rims are common.
Find a place near you that repairs bent rims. Should cost you about $100-$125 per rim to get them straighten. Which includes mounting/dismounting/balancing.
Most places will fix them overnight.

I bought an E550 two months ago that had one wheel ever so slightly out of true, and was mainly noticeable over 70 MPH. Some things can't be compensated for using a RoadForce balancer. Found a wheel shop that trued it while I waited for $100. Good wheel shops can save heavily damaged rims, and you can't tell them apart from new.
It's possible the expectations of driving the W212 make these things more noticeable. The bumps and twitches in the Corvette have never bothered me because during 'spirited' driving, you expect/want to feel everything, and minor balance issues aren't much of a thought.
Any idea what it costs to replace a rim or one of the Continental tires?

The contractors with the mobile vans who do the rim refinishing at the dealer use an angle grinder to smooth out the road rash by removing material in only the affected areas, then blending and refinishing. Is the wheel in balance when done? They also charge the same.
When I bought my first MB I read the contract for the 1st Class Tire and Wheel Insurance. It covers the first set of tires or 5 years whichever comes first. So do the math, the first set of tires lasts 35-40K. There are other limitations also.
As far as I know, MB provides a 1 year tire warranty when new tires are purchased through the dealership. When I hit my first big pothole a few weeks back, I blew a tire, bent the rim, and scratched the wheel. Because the tire was less than a year old and I had a wheel warranty, I only paid $50ish for labor related to the tire.
