Picked up the new wagon today
New to the forum, however, I spent considerable time learning from the many passionate MBWorld members, thank you. I know the wagons fail to get most people excited, but it fulfills our needs. We should enjoy it or many years.

Congratulations - that is an awesome ride. I love the color combo (my car is also irridium silver). What interior color did you get? I think the wagon looks cool. While my wife would refuse to drive it, if the wagon came with the a more powerful (non-Amg) engine, I would probably seriously consider it.

Call me weird. I think some wagons actually look better than their sedan counterparts. Wifey drives a BMW 530xi "touring" as her daily. I split time between my recently acquired 2012 E350 BT and an '85 911 M491 Targa. I drive her wagon from time to time and don't give it a second thought and we don't even have kids.
And congrats on the new car. ; )

Congrats and welcome! I would suggest you take a look at posts from member "GregTR." He has a wagon and has done many mods and has contributed quite a lot to this forum. Enjoy the new ride.

'14 E350 wagon; BMW G12 (2020) G01 (2019)
We picked up our '14 E wagon Monday, and still have an 09 wagon too. And a BMW 08 E61. I happen to like wagons. They are cars. SUVs are closer to trucks. Most people don't need the bulk of a SUV, and wagons drive like cars. My wife agrees. If you want a high end good driving wagon with reasonable load capacity, though, MB is just about the only game in town as BMW does not bring its 5 series wagons to the US. There are rumors that the next generation 5 wagon will come to the US, and that is good because competition is good for the consumer.

I'm also a wagon fan with no kids. Great for hauling stuff, and I too prefer the lines of the wagon to the sedan.
Beautiful car, and great wheels!

I was recently in Germany and it appears that they like wagons a lot more than people in the US. Saw many more BMW, Audi, and MB wagons and comparatively little ML/GL-class vehicles. It is the opposite situation here. Sadly I did not get to drive an MB on the autobahn.

Not a wagon person myself, but I have to admit the lines on the E wagon looks good compared to others I've seen. Very handsome.

Welcome,
just like some others, I find the lines of the E wagon more appealing than the E Sedan.
That's why I own it.
Just wish MB would stuff the diesel in there and maybe a non-AMG small V8 to give wagon lovers some other options.

Agreed - I am a big fan of diesel too. I currently drive a 2001 Ford Excursion diesel and I get 19.4 mpg on the highway in a 9000lb vehicle.

Third EClass; First Wagon
I picked up my first EClass wagon last Thursday. What a terrific car! I have received more compliments on the vehicle in the last week than in 5 years of owning E Class sedans.

Always wanted a wagon and now wonder why I waited so long to get one.
