refinish wheels or buy new replicas?
I curbed two of my rims.
I can either have them repaired @ $150 each = $300 total, or purchase a set of 4 AMG Replica Rims from Simply Tire for $650 installed.
Pro's of repairing:
- cheaper
- will be using OEM Mercedes rims (they are really nice: machined double five spoke)
Con's of repairing:
- won't have an extra set of wheels for winter tires (separate purchase if any, but can use one set of wheels to save $$)
- will have to travel from Scarborough to Vaughan to drop car off where it will be worked on for a full day
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pro's of replacing:
- will be able to use curbed wheels as winter wheels, so seasonal swap would cost approximately $60 less each time
- will take about an hour to do the install at a nearer location
Con's of replacing:
- more than twice the cost of repairing
- non-OEM replica wheels (how good are these from Simply Tire in the GTA?)
Any thought on this?

2014 E350 w/ every option :)
Dont quote me on this.. but I dont think the finish on the replicas is not as good as the OEM (over time).. These replicas are usually used as snows (for most folks).
I would repair.. its an E-class.. keep it OEM.

Over the winter, I had my OEM 18" AMG machined rims refinished locally, by RIM Pro.
I've used RIM Pro before and have been really impressed with the results every time.
I would definelty recommend getting the rims refinished vs buying replicas.
Thanks,
Richard
