TPMS receiver location(s)????
Is there just one device that receives TPMS transmsions, or two (front and rear), or four (one at each wheel)?
Whichever, where are the receivers located in an E550?
(I've had a TPMS error, left front, repeat after having the error and dealer replacing the TPMS in the wheel.)

I think there are 4 antennas, one in each wheel well. and a central computer that receives the signal and interprets it. Otherwise if there were only one antenna, how does the computer know which wheel its coming from? (i.e. when you rotate tires, how does it know which tire is right front vs left rear?).
Plus the TPMS sensors would need much less power to broadcast signal a short distance to the wheel well vs to a central location. The batteries on these things are supposed to last around 10 years, and with such small batteries, the shorter the distance the radio has to broadcast, the less power it will use.

Thanks, folks.
Now we have two posts starting with "I think . . . "
I wonder if there is somebody there who could start with, "I know . . . "

Check out the diagram on that forum. It's for Land Rovers, but most systems work very similarly. there are receivers in each wheel well area.
