COMAND Control Knob
Hello -
I have a 2010 E550 coupe.
I realize there are various posts about repairing / replacing the knob, once it does not do anything when turned (but works when pushed up, down, left right).
I have purchased a used one, does anyone have the instructions as to how to remove the console cover for the 2010 E550? It looks like there is a screw in the small change holder next to the armrest, but didn't know if there are others "hidden" as well.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks - David

I have read through the PDF files, but they're for a different make / model.
If it's a simple as prying up the console plate with a shim that's fine, but I am seeing at least one screw in the change holder recess compartment.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Much appreciated! That link was exactly what I was looking for.
(not so) Funny story - I purchased a used unit off of EBAY hoping that I could just swap out with the new (used) part. Guess what, the EBAY unit had the same issue (broken shaft).
So I ended up taking apart and gluing both shafts of both units over the weekend... and soldering the broken ribbon cable on the first unit (could never figure out a way to remove that knob assembly without cutting / breaking the cable).
For what it's worth, the instructional video is spot on, however, the first step - removing the outside collar on the dial - turned out to take a fair amount of delicate force (and time) for both units. I was getting demoralized thinking, crap... this is step one and I'm making 0 progress...
Happy to answer any questions folks have now that I've done two...
