Absolutely! I do not see a W212 E550 at speeds in excess of 190mph. In fact it takes more than 6 miles to reach even those 187mph…so one runs most likely out of street when trying stuff like this. The E63 however should be a totally different beast.

This is pretty crazy. If all 100% accurate a car that can be had for so cheap can go so very fast. It is amazing in many respects how far cars have come. I remember back in the day to go 190MPH AMG and Mercedes needed to tune the hell out of a car... Now we have run of the mill MB's doing that.

That might be true as long as you do not take a closer look. If you do, you might run into problems like insufficient thermal properties. Mercedes designed the M273 for speeds up to 155mph - which equals a constant power of approximately 230hp. Therefore the water cooling system had to be designed for a constant load of 230hp and not 382hp. You might also want to take a closer look into the oil temperature. Even a stock C63 can run into problems at this point! And nobody knows, if the M273 has protections in its ECU for stuff like that, especially with a tune!

So yes, an E550 can reach those speeds, however I would not compare that with a factory AMG, nor would I use them frequently for those reasons.
