I love the staggered look but does it affect the 4matics?

4matic can't go staggered only rear wheel drive you can mess up the computer and or drivetrain (transfer case,transmission,ect.)

That's what I always heard, but some of the guy's here are running staggered set ups on their 4matics

Not true. Plenty of 4matics on here are running staggered for years with no issues. The key is keeping the outer diameter of the tires the same or as close as possible. The rears will probably be at most 3-5/32nds smaller than the fronts due to normal wear-and-tear (especially if you rotate them forward and replace rears only once those go), so if your staggered wheels are within that tolerance, you should be fine. That's like a 0.1-0.15" tolerance.
