What are you paying for Dealer oil changes?
Noticed that MB of Tampa has them on sale this month for $84.95 - synthetic.
My local dealer, MB of Sarasota charges $129 for the same service.

How much time/gas one can save by traveling only 9 miles less (Tampa vs. St.Pete)?
Anyhow, its supply and demand - they're the only dealership within 40 miles radius. Their over the counter parts and (especially) accessories prices are truly over the top.

Just an oil change. MB of Tampa wants $230 for an A service normally. Why just change the oil when you can pay twice as much and get little more than a record for warranty purposes.
The oil change would be good if you want to change the oil more frequently (every 5k) or you are out of warranty and just doing the basic maintenance.

But, yes..get the "A" service, you'll be glad you did should a warranty issue come up, but pass on the tire R&B. That move should save you some.. doh (
). Had I brought my own oil (it was an option) the dealer would have given me $54 credit. Not enough to make it worth the hassle of schlepping in with my own 229.51 spec oil.
After the warranty is up, I intend to do my own oil changes with a topside changer and Motul oil.

Up here in Bloomington MN the MB dealer charges $69 for an oil change, synthetic oil and a filter.

Turns out, I got an email reply from the service mgr. @ MB of Sarasota, and they will match other MB dealer service coupons.

Fully expected since they do have competition of sorts - German Autohouse is right next to them and BMW (who will do oil change on MBs) close by across the street.

It pays to shop around. here in San Diego, I made a big mistake and took my 2012 E350 to MBZ of SD and they charged me $265.00 for "A" service. But when the "B" was due I shopped around and save $200.00. For my 2014, I plan to do the same. My wife's mechanic reported that he can do the same work and capable to change computer settings for a third of the price. My fear is my warranty. But in San Diego there are a lot of third party certified MBZ garages and I might make a few calls to see they do same work for better price(s).
