Angry Steering Wheel Leather Cracking

Has anyone had the leather on the steering wheel crack? The leather on my 2010 has real fine cracks on one area. Probably too late for a warranty claim

Unfortunately not much you can do... In my experience all painted leather, such as Benz, will peel or crack after 4 to 5 years at the pressure points or wear points. It'll be about $400 for an eBay wheel, that may be worth it to you if your dealer doesn't do the unlikely good will fix

I know this sounds stupid but has anyone ever plasti dipped there steering wheel in matte black?

At about two years, my leather/wood wheel began to peel a little on one side. Dealer had their paint and trim repair specialist fix it. However, about 18 months later it came back. This was within the four year warranty so MB replaced the wheel.
Have had sevaral cars with leather S/W's and kept for several years. None ever peeled, cracked, shedded on anything.

Interior repair specialist can make that look like new,ask service advisor at your dealership to put you in contact with him or her,I use one every week at my dealership to do interior repairs on our cars,if they are any good you will never notice it was there,

As I commented above, I had dealers repair specialist repair the leather on mine. Lasted about two years or less. So, a repair may work, but then again may not.
