Accessory rear entertainment question

I know the 864 version talks with the front head unit- not sure if the accessory one does. This way if I have a DVD in the front changer and a DVD in the rear player each screen can play a separate DVD. I also think that you may be able to listen to/use media hooked up in the armrest such as the USB/Media Cable/iPod cable to use it in the rear. I think the head unit also has an SD reader in it so maybe that can be used to watch stuff in the rear as well- not totally sure.
It'd probably be best to find a car at your dealer with the rear seat entertainment system and play around with it to see if it does what you want it to do. Note, the ML/GL/last gen S all use the same system (at least the screens look the same and uses the same headunit software) so it should act the same as the E. It'll be easy to find an ML or GL on the lot with this option to play with.
