We are down here in SOCAL where they seem to be having a heat wave in our honor. I was in my daughter's X5 and it had these side window shades. Has anyone seen something similar for a W212/E350? I would do anything to cut down the hear build up that occurs while car is parked.

 

My '05 211 had them, my '11 212 does not. They are an option - but not sure if they were part of an option package.

Having the windows tinted will work better than the shades.

 

I have already gotten the windows-including the windshield tinted at 35%. Interior is still really hot. I was hoping to find a way to retrofit the optional equipment. Luckily, this is a short term issue, since it will go away when we return to Seattle.

 

Does the E class comes with a factory fitted option for tinted glass? I would hate if any shop had to do some dismantling to install them.
