Nope, the only issue is your misinformation, that you don't like Mercedes, hell we were in the same boat when it was time to buy. Oh please man you're #1 ignored here, ask around. Every single thread you're in it is the same thing, Mercedes doesn't that, they're doing this wrong and yada yada yada. Like a broken record. On the rare occasion that you're right, I actually post that I agree.

Here's the fact. A member asked a question, and I answered it. I didn't use Wikipedia, but if I did, who the F cares? You admitted that I didn't, then to restart the flame-fest, you bring up that I did (why the hell is this even an issue?). Where do you get your info? The same exact places that everyone on the internet does. What sucks in your life so bad that you have to fling mud because you can't accept the knowledge of someone who you disagree with?

BELIEVE me, I've gotten plenty of people telling me that they think you're the culprit in ruining all these threads. THIS THREAD IS PROOF. You came in, uncalled for, making an issue out of absolutely nothing, not contributing one bit. Yeah, a guy who criticizes Mercedes is not well liked, who'da thought. But I've been told that you violate the TOU enough to practically beg for a banning.

Actually all I said was that someone has read it, then you went off so repeat all that junk to yourself. No actually I get my info on things like that from a MB mechanic, thank you. I didn't start anything, you went off the deep end when your so called knowledge was questioned. Nothing wrong with criticizing Mercedes, everyone does it, but not over and over in every thread possible as some people do here, i.e. YOU. That is the problem people have with you actually. There was no mud flung here until you went off about being questioned, don't get the ****e twisted dude.

You knew what you were doing, and believe me, you're not the favorite on this forum yourself.

Anyway, bye.

I'll be the bigger one here and drop it. Let's pretend this threads last post was before GC1's first post.

Nope, don't know what you're talking about. Not running for forum favorite.

I stand corrected. For some reason I thought there was an Off Topic forum but I must have it confused with some other place I visited recently.

So to recap:

The last biggest update of the 3.5 liter E-class engine was for the 2010 model year? And that's when the 60 degree bank angle was introduced?
Or was the angle changed with the advent of direct injection for the 2012 model year?

I don't think any of the BMWs have modern-looking interiors (3, 5, or 7). From the instrument cluster to the slab dashboard, it's all a time warp to the 1980s. Maybe BMW drivers like that sort of thing, but it's terribly dated to me.

I'm wishing I could have waited another 3 years for the new E to come out, I like what Merc did with the S, somewhat like what they did with the C (love everything on the interior EXCEPT the lack of a true light interior + iPad sprouting up from the dash), and I'd imagine the E will be spectacular. If anything, my 2015 E will be very similar to my 2004 Infiniti M45 in terms of overall interior, and that's fine by me.

Wonder if next E will go to run-flats like C did.

2010's V6 was a carry over engine. 2012 MY introduced the newer Chrysler based 3.5 with the DI and 60 degree bank angle.

EDIT: Wait, let me fact check with Wikipedia on that....

.... Yep, it's right.

DOUBLE EDIT: Wait, let me fly to Stuttgart to fact check this personally with the assembly line....

.... I'm back. Yep, it's right.

lol. Thanks.

When I was shopping for my CPO E class, the reason I went for nothing older that 2012 was because I wanted the DI with the 34 add'l HP. I felt it was a useful upgrade for a car of this size. But, I did not realize that the engine was so that much more different! Interesting.

it'll be interesting to see what these TTV6's have downstream for recalls or major TSB's... the V8's have been around a while (the TTV8's) and seem to have "stabilized" in terms of major problems moving forward...

K-A your lease must be close to it's due date. What now? Another BMW? It won't be a MB after all the bashing over the last two years. But then again, you spend more time on the MB boards than BMW and since you are not opposed to contradicting yourself, who knows.

As for myself, I like BMW. My problem is, I seldom settle for second best and for that reason I drive a Benz.
