Best Looking Wheels for W212
Different car designs are complimented by certain style wheels. Some look best with mesh, some with multi-spoke, some with lip, some flush, some concave.
What general style do you think suits the W212 best?

It is an eye of the beholder issue as far as I am concerned. Many tire and wheel sites have an app built in where you can select wheels and see them on your car.

No doubt. And yes I know. But those sites don't tell the story. Seeing real pics and in person do. I am aware it is ultimately up to the individual. I am deliberately asking to get people's opinions.

Personally I like the look and feel of the standard 17" OE setup from 2010 and 2011, and I can't seem to find any for sale. I'd prefer to stay OE but I can't bring myself to spend $350+ per corner new. From all of the marketing here you would think that everyone is upgrading, so where are all of the takeoffs

Selling/trading a relatively new car with replica oversized wheels is a disaster, so perhaps those who are buying are smart enough to hold on to their OEMs?

Yea, you are probably right. I guess I am just frustrated because I want a set of 17s for my winter tires. I have free changeovers but that isn't good for the tires or the wheels.

I see take-offs on ebay, and that's how I got a set off an E55 several years ago. I think you're more likely to find 19" E63 wheels than 17" standard just due to the nature of the owners and market in general. The smaller wheels are often reasonable priced from big wheel refurbishers.
I like Mercedes to have wheels that look like Mercedes/AMG wheels. Twin 5-spoke as well as multispoke always look good IMO.

I have not seen a bad wheel yet. Every member believes their wheel is the best and it is for them. Just pick and choose and you will have your best set of wheels.

I haven't seen a set of 17" OE wheels for a W212 on the wheels n tires section for some time now.

Depends on the look you're trying to achieve. I'm fond of the ones shown on the German MB website:
Those are 17's shown... they do make 18's of the same design.

Yea, I see a bunch on ebay, but as far as I can tell, they are all refurbished from a wheel shop. The trouble there is you can't tell if it was just a cosmetic clean up or a bunch of bends or cracks that were "fixed". Many if not most would be ok, but how can you tell.

Takeoffs I look for sets with tires, easier to find 19" E63 takeoffs on ebay than 17". These are the best LOOKING, not the most practical.

The 17" from wheel shops can be refurbs, but decents sets are out there. You're buying the seller as much as the wheels.

Beachbunny, those wheels look great even in 17. If this were my primary car and needed to feel like my toy as well I would do some 19's and lower it because this car has killer aggressive lines.
But since I have a toy for that I find myself wanting this to be the Q ship of sorts. But the multispoke wheels are ugly to me. IMHO when you have an open spoke design like that it is trying to be sporty yet the wheel looks too small. A tighter multispoke design doesn't seem like it wants to be sporty but is too small. It just looks conservative. Give me full sporty or give me conservative with presence.
I also like this S600 wheel which is a factory 19". The Vossen also below is conservative multispoke wheel as well. Wish there were a 17 or 18 that would look as good. May have to go 19
