Adding front camera
My 2013 E350 has a rear back-up camera, but I'd really like a front camera as well to be able to see the parking stops and avoid hitting the front bumper.
This company claims to make a front-view camera for the W212 that's about $120: http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.ph...&cat=25&page=1
Anyone have any experience with that or something similar? How would it be activated if you're not in reverse?

The camera can be fitted to any aftermarket head unit with a video input or to your existing factory fitted screen via our range of Mercedes Multimedia Video Interfaces.

Seems like a lot of cost and trouble for what you would get

i'm very interested in this! Leaving a note here so I can do some research on it after work sometime.
I've got a carbon fiber front lip on my front bumper, which is lowers the front end roughly 2.5inches. The only reason I haven't lowered the car is because everytime I park my front lip is just barely hovering over those parking bricks and curbs. Having a front lip would make parking in the city a whole lot easier..

I'm working on this now for the S class 07-13. I'm working with a company now and plan to add it to mine. I'm a dealer for this company, not the one posted though. They look like they are in another country? What do those prices come out to in US funds?
How mine would work is, you hit a button on the steering wheel, (existing button), and the front camera will turn on. Or the other option is, front camera will turn on anytime the car is stopped (would have to be programmed ahead of time this way)
If I'm right, cost could be under $399 total maybe. Still testing different cams out.

Video Interface for W212 E class cars
In case any of you are interested in this unit read their web-site carefully as in one small spot in their ad for this product it doesn't work on 2010 E class W212's, only for models from model year 2011+. It seems worthwhile for those without a reversing camera in their car, but to buy it just to use for forward facing vision, it seems superfluous for obvious reasons. Lastly, I have never removed the Command in my E but I'd be willing to bet it probably isn't an easy task

Working on it. This is going to be super sweet when it's done. I've just been super busy lately and you know how that is. When you get busy, the projects you want to do for your own car get pushed back sometimes. I'm going to try and get it done this weekend. Just need to route the wires from the unit to the front bumper.

It's very easy. All the wood trim pulls out. I think if I remember right there is 2 screws on bottom of the piece that houses the controls right above the slide lid. There is a how to somewhere on here that I used. If you can figure out how to change the plugs, you can do this.
