Bad wiring harnesses, this happened to me with only 2000 miles on the odometer, there is a service bulletin for the w212 on this

You need to take it in

I had the same problem on my 2010, water got into the right rear sensor. Not cover on my CPO and was going to be about 1200 to fix. Don't really need it so I didnt both getting get done. Going to see if I can find the part online and get a indy shop to do it for me

Mine is inoperative too. Seemed to happen when car got covered in salt spray, but the OP being in Florida suggests another reason.

I read somewhere else that corrosion is the problem. Is that what was meant by the bad wiring harness?

Mine failed due to corrosion according to my service manager after only a couple of years. :-( Does not bode well for the long term.
