MB tire totes
I see tire totes with logos for Audi, BMW, VW and some others but none for MB. I found a 2012 accessories brochure showing some but no part number. Anybody know if they exist? Otherwise I guess I'll contact dealer parts and see what they can come up with. I know there are some generics but I'd rather get some with the star logo if a reasonable cost.
Should have posted in tires/wheels section but cannot delete or move post (...I wish we could edit posts to delete them entirely). If moderator wants to move it... OK w/me

Maybe I'll just get the TireRack ones (or even Audi or BMW ones available at a good price sometimes) when I decide to get "Snow" tires, what some refer to as "Winter" tires (probably for legal or other reasons). I also decided to just use my OEM 18" wheels. While not offering the most tire choices compared to 17", there are still decent snow tires available. It also would eliminate purchasing/hauling/lifting an extra set of wheels and having to buy a set of tire pressure sensors. Since we're already late into the season now, I'll probably get them in the Summer/Fall. I could swap many times before I would hit payback.

I actually don't keep the plastic bags either.
They keep the crap off the interior when I bring the dirty wheels home.
I use the opportunity to clean the backside of the wheel and tire really well. I inspect for nails and debris with the potential to create a puncture and remove all the little stones.
I let them dry and put them up on the shelf for next season. They are clean enough I could wear a white shirt and I don't get my hands dirty. When they go back in the car to be re-fitted I don't need any cover.
I am sure I am stating a well known fact but for newbies, brake dust and water are corrosive and will attack the surface of the wheel as well as finding its way down into the bead which can lead to extremely slow leaks over time. Of course if you live in an area where salt is used on the roads in winter you get the added bonus of corrosives. My SLK320 was not so well cared for before I got it and I have one wheel that is going down regularly but so slowly we cannot see it in 30 minutes in a water tank.I will have to get it broken down to inspect the bead before it goes back on the road. Good tire and wheel hygiene is a preventative measure. Putting dirty wheels in a bag and leaving them there is only going to exacerbate the situation.

I bought my winter wheels through my dealer but they were aftermarket wheels at $135 each. That was $15 over the online price so i went that way because he was responsible for the quality and fitment. Not much more expensive than the last set of steel wheels I bought for my 2003 W211 and a lot cheaper than OEM wheels. Steel was not available for the W212 in 2012 that could I find. Even MBC, who supplied the 2003 steel wheels, didn't offer them. Not enough mark up I think.

Suggest that you contact either Vancouver Mercedes-Benz (Parts Dept. tel # 604-736-3179) or Toronto Mercedes-Benz, ask for a quote incl. shipping. Your US$ is now worth about 27% more than the Canadian dollar, so it might be cheaper than buying from Tirerack.
Other than the logos, the tire totes are identical. I have a set of each.
