Quick intro and pics of new toy
Hi guys! I have been a member for a while, as I had a w208 for a while that I donated to the EX fund. I just picked up a 2011 E-350 as kinda an impulse buy since my other cars get terrible gas mileage.
I'm always looking for new ideas, thoughts and opinions. I'm trying to kinda take the "Old Man" out of the car. No offence intended for the "Older" folk on here. We are all car people at heart.
THe only things I have done in the 2 weeks I have had it are 1: wash it like 4 times, 2: Tint the windows, 3: Tint the tail lights a tiny bit, 4: Ordered interior led's 5: Drive it!
I am also planning on some new wheels and tires, probably 20's lowering about 1" (Any suggestions), and maybe de-chrome it. Is there anything I am missing out on that I should also look into, or you all suggest?
A couple pictures are below. First is day one of purchase, and the last two are how it sits right now while I'm working. Yes I need to wash it again!

Thanks guys! It's nice to get something new. I am a very car geek so I will be as much help as I can for people too.
Multi quote won't come from my phone it sucks at the moment.
Oh yeah. I am going to color match something to the body with as much of a lip as I can get. I don't know what to do with these AMG rims after though. Going through all the offset and backspace info I can find right now.
I was thinking of that too, or just tinting the amber ones on there? I dunno.

Congrats on the car.
As far as "taking the old man out of it" - as mentioned a trunk spoiler would be nice you could go wild and get one in black or carbon fiber and get matching mirrors.

Thanks! I'm probably going to do the side markers today or tomorrow. I ran out of tint film though, I think I still have some nite shades I may just hit them with.
I wasn't sure on them, but with them done I like it more. They were a PITA to do with that annoying little "Swoosh" on the light that I am convinced was added to make me cuss while working on it.
I Was looking at the trunk spoiler. Any good ones anyone here recommends? I am thinking black, to me the 350 isn't a carbon fiber car. An AMG I get it, but I don't want to make it something it's not. I didn't think of flipping the mirrors too. If I did that I would have to take the chrome out of all the side molding under the windows too. Then the Grill...
Thanks man! I am trying to get a chance to do so.
I must stay I have had a lot of cars and been in many sites you all seem to be the kindest so far. I don't see too much catty judging and flaming. My belief is we all have a common interest and not everything is for everyone.

PM "JBSPEED" from what I recall he had a great price on trunk spoilers that were painted to match if you wanted. Although in black it may look pretty good on your car as well.
Don't worry about taking the "old man" out of it. My wife drives the E-Class and she's 28 and absolutely loves everything about the car. All I did was debadge it (I see you did the same) and get 20% tint all the way around. It looks good with just the right amount of factory chrome on it IMO.
I agree with you that CF does not belong on a E-Class (E-63 not included) though.
Congratulations on the ride, you'll love it.
PS: The tag frame with the Chevy/Ford logo has got to go ASAP!!

Yeah its been good so far. I'm thinking of plastic dip on some chrome since I can peel it off when I get bored or don't like it.
The ironic part is that plate frame is on my list. I turned around the giant ford logo that's why its white in the center. I'm a die hard Mopar guy and that was hard to pull into there.

You may also want to consider a sport grill and hood badge (to replace the stand up star). Here's a link to my last E, with the grill/hood badge mod. This will also give you a good idea of what she'll look like with 19's & a trunk and roof spoiler, black of course ;-) Cheers

Thanks, I like them too..(can no longer order those with the engraved AMG they use a glued on plate)..... but still deciding if I'm going to sell them. My E is basically a winter car now since I use the CLK550 Cab from May to early Dec., so wrestling with what to do. Yes, I did the full paint correction and cquartz on the E550 about 3 weeks ago (also did the CLK in April). Spendy at $900 but well worth it for me. I simply can not get that level of shine no matter how hard I try + MUCH easier to keep her clean. I did the grill and hood badge mod on the 550 too, already had the rear spoilers.
Shop is 10 mins off exit 4 rt. 93 (Derry NH exit). I believe he's the only authorized Cquart finest shop around...depending where you are, might be worth a trip
Some good ideas for the OP :-)
also did the cqquartz on the wheels in the pics, any grime just falls off when you wash. He showed me a video a few weeks ago of a cqquartz job he did 3 years ago on a BMW....it showed him hitting the hood with a hose, the beading was still incredible....

Congrats! The things you can are pretty much endless. As suggested previously, I would suggest starting with the usual trunk spoiler and the smoked side markers. Then rims and a drop possibly?

Newer the better, but even new cars need some level of paint correction, from being washed on the lot over and over..I've done two 2010's and one 07, with amazing results. Check the portfolio on his site. he's also on FB. I recall his advise being of you order new, tell them to leave as is when they receive it, (ie., plastic everywhere) and let him deal with it...

Sorry It took me so long to respond. I am not getting notifications anymore on the thread.
I have been thinking about that too. The badge really makes the hood lines stand out and is way better imo. I am bouncing around ideas on the grill too. I am considering blacking that out too. I dunno I'll probably do it at some point. I really do like those AMG wheels better too. Mine are kinda boring.
It is Tenorite Grey Metallic on the color. Seems a bit different than most I see here. In face there aren't a lot of e-classes here mostly C-Class that I see in Seattle. I will look into that roll too. I like to Plastic dip, but I did use a tint film on the tails and liked the way it came out.

Funny, my previous W211 had shadowline/night package trim while the W212 went back to chrome. I wrapped the chrome trim on my C63 with 3M 1080 gloss black vinyl from ebay (which is amazingly easy to use and removable). http://shadowlinetrim.com/shadowlinevinyls.html also sells rolls for this prupose. What color is your car palladium or steel?
