Air filter question

I was going to change my air filters for my 2011 w212 blutec. I can do the cabin air, no problem...however...the engine air filters...

Seems there is conflicting info out there as to the actual filter to use.

Are these rectangular or angled? And how in hell do you reach the screws down deep by the heat shield?

Is this really a DIY job?

Yes, easy DYI. No need to remove any screws to get the filter housing off. Just pull it vertically to remove then remove the 8 torques screws underneath to access the two rectangular filters.

You do not mention your location: MBUSA (494) OEM left 6420942804, right 6420943004

I'm in Canada...which I assume is the same as MBUSA.

I don't think i can pull them up vertically. I've seen this arrangement, and don't think this is the configuration under the hood. I see 4 torx screws...

If this is the case, how do you get to the ones down by the heat shield?

Thank you. Very helpful!

As for step number 9 - I have no idea what this means or how to do it!

I have a diagnosis tool, not STAR DIAGNOSIS though. Will that do it?

More than likely you will not experience any problems, computer should adjust on its own. Mentioned line item in case you experience anything uncharacteristic lasting for while in which case you will need someone with MB diagnostic tool (STAR).
