Comfort Box is worthless to us...

The $290 option was already included / installed in our 2015 E400.
Salesman showed us how it worked at delivery.
Looks interesting.
We haven't used it since.
In fact, it takes up trunk space that we need to load my road bicycle.
So pretty worthless to us.

But maybe useful & valuable to someone else on here.
Make us an offer...

If you have kids, its pretty useful to store extra clothes and it's height adjustable so it doesn't really get in the way.

Good to know the Comfort Box impairs the ability to stuff a bike in the trunk - like you, I need room back there. Glad I didn't try to outbid thefisch.

I've used mine only a handful of times in nearly 2 years... At least once for longer than intended...
Let's say it is great for bringing eggs home from the supermarket...
Terrible that they are then out of sight and out of mind, and easily left in car...
'nough said. Lol.

2014 E350 also restored: 1969 Camaro convertible SS 1957 Chevy Belair 2dr hardtop
when we go on vacation I take it out in order to fit the suit cases in. Around town it comes in handy for putting things you bought into it. Stuff does not roll around in trunk if it is inside the storage bin.

I think it would be good for bringing a few boxes of Kleenex home from the store

Think of you just got In N Out to go and notice the bag is already getting oily on the outside of the bag or any food that is oily. I would not put it on the floor on the back seat nor just in the trunk where it'll be flying all over the place in the back.

It's really handy for us and it's just 2 **** you turn to remove.

Love it and it's really easy to clean.

I would not put an oily back inside my car in any possible place...

But about the Comfort Box I think the double hook is way better. The hook came standard with my car, like it did with the 2011 E350 that I had. I'm not sure with 2012 and later models. You can hang 10 grocery bags in the double hook easily and they will not be flying around in the trunk no matter how you drive.

Yup, the trunk hook is a keeper. I've attached all sorts of stuff to it. Works great!

And it folds up and out of the way when not in use - taking up zero trunk space.

Yeah,

Forgot to mention the amazing spring loaded fold away action when the hook is not used...thought everyone has the hook and knows about it but now wonder how it is? Did MB make the hook obsolete and it now is an option to have or an assessory to buy?

There is a small hook on each side of the front attachment bracket of the comfort box, so the hook feature was not totally done away with if one has the comfort box install.
