Audio aux not available while iPod is connected

Audio aux not available while iPod is connected
Hi guys I have a 2010 E550, whenever I want to use the audio aux I need to disconnect the iPod first while I have a y connector with aux and iPod connection. I was wondering if there was a way to have audio aux to work without having to always disconnect the iPod first. Thanks guys

Cannot recall an issue when I used an iPod. I use my iPhone in BT mode now unless I want full register access and I plug it in.
Are you using the cable in the glove box?
Maybe I am not clear as to what the problem is.

yes, cable in the glovebox. We are talking about a cable connected ipod not streaming via BT. I think the cable can only recognize one source at a time even though it has two inputs. Likely designed that way.

My iPod when I used it did not have BT capability so you must have something different.
My iPhone 5 works fine in BT mode and if I want full register info I plug it in.

Yes it weird, stupid too that you will have to unplug the iPod in order to use the aux. I have been trying to find a solution to have aux working without having to disconnect the iPod but no luck so far. Also i was able to activate BT audio through the engineer mode but it seems not to want to connect to my iPhone, therefore BT audio is useless for me
