Does anyone know if this trim is held on with adhesive/glue...or are there holes with clips? I'm looking to remove it, but was told there are holes. Hoping it's just like the E350 and 4matic badge instead.

 

double sided tape. 40 min to remove both sides. looks better without it too...

I removed the chrome door side molding as well as the blue-effiency badges from my 2012 wagon. Also just switched to the 18" AMG wheels from my 17's. I too felt the slanted bright molding just on the doors didn't make sense and also didn't seem to relate to anything.
