How long should a replacement key take
The E 350 CPO that I bought from MB Manhattan had only one key. They said they would order me a replacement key. Almost two weeks already, and still no second key. This actually is very inconvenient as both my wife and I need keys to both our cars.
How long does it normally take for a MB dealer to come up with a replacement key?
thanks

I waited over 3 weeks for a replacement key. When it came in they lost it when mailing it out. Waited another 3 weeks for another key. When it came in I said I will pick it up, which I did. Then low and behold they found my other ordered key behind some furniture where it had fallen down (the packages are well marked with the owner's information). So, now I have 3 keys. LOL
They come from the facility in Texas.
There is no programming once you get it. You stick it into the slot and a notice pops up telling you that the key is being authorized and then you are good to go. Takes a few seconds.

Yike!
The dealer actually lost my key!
They ordered a replacement.
The replacement was available in about 5 days
There may have been a priority put on the order by the dealer as they lost it....

That seems like a long time. My CPO E550 only had one key as well and the dealer ordered me a new key. It took 3 days for them to get it and then the salesperson programed it for me in 2 minutes. If you don't have keyless go you skip the programming.

3 days to replace my key after the key's internal chip suddenly failed in Nowhere AZ and car had to be flatbeded 2 hours to the nearest dealer in Phoenix. Lesson learned - Always take a second key if you travel away from home. Otherwise the dealer has no way of knowing what is wrong with the starting system because the diagnostic they use requires 2 keys.

last time I order a key fob it takes less than 2 weeks, and that's during Christmas week too,
it works right out the package, they don't have to touch my car at all, heck, they never even see my car.

You have to keep after them to make sure they actually ordered it. I would call every day and talk to the parts dept manager.

The dealer is Mercedes Benz Manhattan, with a new building that is really beautiful. Staff is attentive, but there seems to be a cloud over peoples' experience with Service. Grumbling about repairs and costs.
At least I got the key and it works !
