Seat massager turns off after a certain amount of time?

Hey everyone,

I drive about 3-3.5 hours a couple times a week and I use the seat massager thing quite a bit, but it seems to shut off automatically after 30-60 minutes...

Is there any way for me to change it so it runs until I turn it off or maybe lengthen the timer?

It does turn off automatically, so nothing abnormal. Quite frankly, after it runs its course I welcome the break. I am unaware of any workaround to get it to last indefinitely.
As soon as it stops you can push the button and go again, but you already know that.

I wasn't a huge fan of it at first but it's grown on me and I could see myself using it the entire drive if it was possible. As it is, I end up turning it back on 2-3 times per drive.

Obviously a pretty serious first world problem here...

It is pretty amazing how much coverage that function has from the base of your spine all the way to the top. I had it on my '04 E500 and also on my 550 and use it all the time on longer trips like you. The seat fans, however don't do much to help cool the seat. They are kind of a waste.

Page 107 of the manual says it stays on something like 20 minutes. You just need to start it again as you've found out.

I agree the ventilated seats could do a better job. But I can still tell a difference driving with them off for a while versus having them on.

I had the same problem, but I was so tired that I simply bought an other massager for neck

It seems that pushing a button is such a problem... However, alright, we are all different, I don't find it annoying, but whatever. Speaking of neck massagers, I guess, it's the best thing people have ever invented. I use it all the time I get stressed, angry and need relaxation. My neck and my back are those parts of my body which hurt the most, which makes me suffer pretty often. Not long ago I've ordered Zyllion Shiatsu back and neck massager. I adore this massager, it is absolutely amazing if your neck/back is aching(as it has the heating function). I'm so grateful ReadyResearch for this review of best shiatsu massagers, it helped me a lot in making choice)

My 07 S Class used to turn of the massage seats after 30-40 minutes, of course you can just push the button again, but I think they did it to keep the motors from over-heating, just a guess. I did also notice that the cooled seats in the S worked much better.

The fact that the massager turns off after 20 miinutes is a feature. It's there to remind that you are driving a car, not falling asleep in a comfy barcalounger.

Embrace the feature.
