Darndest thing - I just turned in a '12 E550C for a 2016 E550C - the '12 had a weird sound like a very soft cricket chirp fairly frequently when closing the drivers door with normal force.

I picked up the '16 June 30th and just this morning closed the door and there it was again - I couldn't believe it. Same sound different car.

I know rattles or sounds can be very hard to find - I can make it happen and just can't pinpoint where the sound is coming from - somewhere in the front end, the door who knows.

Of course, it would never do it when I'm at the dealer.

Anyone else experience this?

My coupe did it as well, I always assumed it was the glass squeaking against the rubber seals.

Seriously thought, i have it on my E coupe as well but can barely hear it so it doesnt bother me as much. Goodluck with that mate.

My car does it too, 2010 E550.


I found it to be the window control panel. Put some pressure with your fingers on the door panel when you close the door. this should stop the sound. I then just pressed on the panel at all sides to make sure it is tightly in place.


Strangest thing is that it does not do it all the time like at the moment my cricket has been sleeping for months since I pressed on the panel edges. I hope it died but I know this is too much to ask... It will come back one day.
