Debating making a change to bring a bit of the v8 out without going over the top loud. I've watched very Internet video I came across for Brabus, meisterschaft, eisenmann, x pipe, muffler deletes, and combinations thereof. Honestly, with variables in the works on recording device, location, temp, etc, it's hard to really get a feel for the nuances of sound.

If a full exhaust kit was not 2-3k, it would be a no brainier, but have any of you heard both in person? Is the difference really that different that it is worth the additional cost?

I haven't seen Dyno specs showing any true substantial gains with the exhaust and in reality don't really "need" any more speed, but a bit of tone would add some masculinity to the car when I want to get on it. I am concerned removing components could end up just sounding cheap which I would like to avoid as well.

I removed the large resonator and am happy with the sound. I have the 5.5 in my CLK as well and removed the resonator and secondary cats, and it's louder than my E. Easy $100 mod

Thank you for the links Johnny I should have hitlinked them in thus post. I had actually have seen those along with the others mentioned.

What I have not been able to find was someone that personally has heard both the cheaper mod vs the full exhaust or better yet side by side or on a personal vehicle. As mentioned in my post I'm just curious if with how expensive the full system options are if first hand someone felt having heard them, if they felt the performance or sound characteristics were truly worth the extra 2k+ dollars.
