replaced wagon for a 16 model
Went to pick up our new wagon. Can't believe it is our 6th MB wagon. You'd think we could find a worthy replacement but we keep on going back to wanting another one.
This car has P1, Lighting Pkg, Keyless, Parking Assist with Surround and Driver's assist pkg.
Was surprised that 16s came in so early but it has something to do with new 17s being initially released without wagons in the lineup? Read somewhere that wagons are not slated to be in the initial release of the new model change and will follow sometime afterwards.

Thanks guys. Very happy that the turn signal stem is now above the cruise control stem. It bothered me in our 2013 model every time I drove it.

Congrats on the wagon! It looks very sharp. I really like the new OEM five spoke wheels, as they look more modern than the similar design on my '12.
I'd be all over an E550 4Matic Wagon, but alas I need AWD more than a wagon... sad geographic fact of life for me.
Amen! After ~9months, I still find the comms between my hands and brain hesitating on which stalk does what (tranny, turn signal, cruise, etc) ... especially on the weekends when I'm switching in and out of our two cars frequently. It's a funny, slow-mo hand dance!

I love the comment re cruise position.
I have *****ed about this in my W211 2009 wagon, my 2011 W212 wagon, my SLK350 2014 and my CLA45 AMG ain't much better.
Back in the day on the W124 E class, the CC stalk was a 4 mm rod with a elongated knob about 1.5 " long and maybe 3/8" square in cross section. It sat about 2 " above the turn signal stalk which was at 9 o'clock position from the wheel on the left.
With your hands in proper driving position of 9-3 all you had to do was extend your second finger to the end of the CC to do anything with it.
On the more recent cars you almost have to look to see that you have the right one. On the SLK invariably I was hitting the turn signal because it was below the 9 o'clock position slightly and the CC was below it.
Nice wheels. Enjoy.

Congrats -- looks sharp. Big german wagon fan here as well...but first time on a MB wagon. Had 3 Audi avants back when they still had them in the mid-size platform (100CS, A6 and S6). No regrets though -- I'm a convert

Thanks everyone!
Not a big deal at all but a couple of things I've noticed that the 2016 car didn't come with:
1) Inside the center armrest storage area, there is no tray included. Our '13 and prior models had a little tray that made it easier to organize the space. It still has a small hole where I believe the tray is designed to hang from. Tough to see in this pic but I'm pointing to it.
2) On our prior wagons, there used to be a rear sill protector attached to the underside of the folding cargo compartment floor. I think it was connected by magnets. I always liked this feature when sitting on the bumper to put on shoes or whatever. No longer here.
None of this will detract from the superb vehicle that the new wagon is and offset by many many improvements over the years. Just noticed things while I was transferring stuff from our old wagon into the new one. Probably will find more things different and hopefully better!

I stand corrected on item 1. The 2013 wagon did not have a small tray in the center armrest compartment. Wonder what the little indentation is for that I'm pointing to? Anyone know?

[QUOTE=pacrimguru;6519044]Congrats on the '16 wagon. I love wagons. For item #2, the sill protector, are you talking about this type of optional part?
Kind of looks like it - the one I was thinking about attached via magnet. Used to be standard equipment and hidden under the folding floor?

pacrimguru - our last wagon was a 2013 and I had it on there. I believe the wagon we had prior to that was a 2009. I can't remember if it was on that one or not. I don't recall buying any optional stuff for the rear hatch for the 2013. Hmm.

one more thing
#3) keyfob isn't programmed to close the rear hatch on this car. Can I do that in engineering mode somewhere? It's just one of those things that I got used to being able to do. Did it on our our old wagon, does it on the ML and the S. Why don't they just keep things consistent?
