Oil Sensor Warning Light
The oil sensor warning light comes on in my 2002 E320 with 110K miles on it. It always comes on just as the engine oil heats up to normal operating temperature. Is this a DYI fix? What's involved?

After a routine oil change the "check oil level at next refueling" message appeared, checked oil level, it was a little high but even after removing to where level is at mid-point on the dipstick the message still appears. Am thinking the sensor has gone bad - are there any electrical checks for this part or is it straight to replacing? There aren't many posts on this part; it doesn't seem difficult to replace, my question is do I need a gasket for the lower oil pan? Vehicle is a 2010 E550, 140 k miles. Thanks for any help.

Thank you for replying, based on the Amazon picture,
, that seal comes with the sensor, I was referring to whether there was a gasket for the oil pan itself, where it mates to the engine.
