Either way, I'm happy you got your car to your liking and I'm happy I learned something new from all of this.
Yes,

I almost always hit the "Quote" tab so that the message I am quoting to comes with my post. Some "smart" person in this forum like this "double dipper" obviously do not understand this.

And it saddens me to see what a jerk this guy is. He started the rant against me when I would not post the info for the dealer who ordered me the sun glass holder for my car. I have my reasons not to do that. Later in that same thread there were other people posting that they also could order the part thru their dealer. He calls me a liar as in his mind the part cannot be ordered from the dealer because he could not do so. Wonder why he cannot do so?

And what saddens me with this all is that he has military caps on his car's rear shelf and I have the highest respect towards the U.S. armed forces. I stopped commenting to his stupid rant after I saw those caps as this poor guy may have weed-burned his brain in Vietnam. This is how he acts.

So I understand.

It says in the Operator's Manual what it is for. A friend and I often take road trips together and right after I got the car, he asked about it. I told him. Now whenever he gets in, first thing he does is open the strap and place his water bottle(s) in the holder. He is 6'6" and never mentioned it rubbing his leg even with the bottles in it.
My wife has never complained about it. No one ever has.
However, glad you were able to remove it.

Thanks I am only 5'9" but when on long trip and I am in passenger side I usually have shorts on and since I had Knee replacement the legs are sensitive on the sides. Agent orange eating at my body it started when I was about 25. The strap was fairly easy to take off and now no irritation. We do not fly because of sinus problems so we drive on long trips. We take our time and get to see the sights and when we are tired we stop. Guess that happens when you get old.

How do you know he has military caps on his rear shelf?
BTW, insinuating that someone "weed-burned his brain in Vietnam" is an insult to anyone who served in Vietnam. In fact, the whole statement above is an insult to the military, past and present.

Arrie is just a weird troll, he is meant to be ignored. Thank you for your comments and defending the military. I am 60% service connected disabled and I appreciate people who respect the military and the people who served. I served 5 tours in Vietnam in 2 years and received 13 metals and sitations. And I still have never smoked weed or taken drugs. You just have to ignor the little twirp hopefully he will go away.

It is not insulting to anyone who did not over do it. Lots of folks were forced to go there against their own will and I understand some or quite few may have got to a "smoking" habit and I understand this 100%. If I was sent half way around the world at young age like that I could easily have done the same. But there is a difference doing it somewhat controlled way and "burning your brains out".

Sorry you take this as an insult towards the military as it surely is not meant to be.

His caps are on the "dash camera" thread.

Arrie: Probably better not to discuss military related issues, medical conditions and so forth on this site. Now you seem to be justifying illegal drug use by saying people "were forced to go there against their own will." This makes illegal drug use permissable?
The US drafted military personnel from 1862 till 1865 and again in WW I and again from 1940 until 1975. Being drafted is not being "forced to go." Being drafted and sent into harm's way as service to your country does not justify illegal drug use.
Incidentally, you might want to be more careful before suggesting anyone "burned his brains out."
Vietnam veterans have been tared with this drug abuser or mentally ill brush for far too long.
Happy Motoring!

Then stop talking about it. You make assumptions about me that are dead wrong. Period on this!

So, how bout that strap? ....I've tried to hate it, but can't...was a passenger this week did not notice it....Picked up my manager at the airport recently and hopped in and put his water bottle in there the second he sat down...

The c class and glc models don't come with that strap. Maybe you can sell your unwanted strap to them.
