annoying strap

Finally removed the annoying strap that I believe is for a bottle on the left carpeted wall on passenger side. I had to pull the carpet back and use a diamond shape bit to unscrew the bracket. Then I put carpet back in place. No more annoying bracket to scrape against my leg. I left the mesh screen in place because I had no irritation from it. I have attached pictures of bracket both front and back

Do you have an 'after' picture of the area in the car?

I can't believe you have done this but that's your car because that sliding part really works for me ,so if you like it "uncluttered" then hurray

Do you ever sit on the passenger side of your car on a long trip? I do not think you do otherwise you would see how annoying it is when you are trying to rest your left leg against the side wall of the console and there is this strap that is sticking out that is sharp and rough. I prefer the soft carpet rather than a piece of plastic. If I only drove the car it would not bother me but my better half drives it sometimes and I am the passenger and it is an irritating piece of equipment that really is not needed.

How easy is it to pull the carpet back?

Used a small pry bar and started at the top under the dash then got some of that pulled down then I went to where the seam overlap is near the seat. Once I got the area down near the seam (It is only tucked up there about 1 inch) I just pulled down and it all came down. You will see that about in the middle there must be a clip that the carpet hooks onto. By pulling hard down it just came down. When I was done unscrewing the 2 bracket screws I just tucked the carpet back up.

So that piece is there for a bottle? I didn't know what the hell it was there for Lol. It looks like a strap that you would see on the train or a bus back in the day To press and signal you want to get off at the next stop.

I use it all the time to carry wine to friend's houses. If my wife ever complains about the strap rubbing her leg when not in use I will......

Yes, quite as much , the longest trip ever on passenger seat is 6 hours approximately. It never bothers me considering I mostly use it instead of cup holders because cup holders is only good for bottles as big as Burger King's drink bottles

...tell your wife not to sit with her legs open like men...

...glue foam padding on the strap...

...drive without her in the car...

...unscrew that strap and let her hold the bottle...

...tell her to shut up... and sleep in the dog house...

We keep an umbrella in it all the time. The wife likes the convenience of having the umbrella nearby and the strap never bothered either of us when riding as passenger.

Me too. Would have never guessed it is a problem. It actually is a very handy strap to hold bottles and tall coffee cups.

Welp, I guess I have a new Ciroc bottle holder. You guys always give the essential information. I would've never used that thing otherwise.

Arrie is on my block list because he is an ignorant twirp with no life No where did I state that my wife was annoyed with the strap.. I stated I was annoyed with the strap when I sit there and since I am a guy I sit like a guy with the legs open Since I have no idea what species Arrie is I would assume he has a boyfriend and Arrie sits with his legs together like any good woman would do. I only find out what Arrie says when someone quotes from him. His comment was uncalled for but then knowing he has a limited mentality he is forgiven, He just does not know any better. Anyone reading this should visit Arrie_s profile and see what type on off the wall comments he makes about people. Usually not helpful but spiteful. What can you do once an idiot always an idiot in his case. If I could block him from making a comment on a thread I make I would do it but you cannot so I still have to put up with his comments.

I could be wrong but I think Arrie was making that comment to KEY08. They probably know each and joke sarcastically.
Either way, I'm happy you got your car to your liking and I'm happy I learned something new from all of this.

Sorry that you had to read all of this but there was no call to make a comment like that about my wife. I tried to ignore him but he is like the flue he keeps coming back but I just rack it up that he is ignorant and with his lack of education he does not know any other way to communicate to people except in a sarcastic way. I really feel sorry for him he is really pitiful.
