Hey, your car does look great and I'm just busting your chops on the badge. As a former AMG owner I am entitled to shake my head at that move. I'm glad you are enjoying the car and making it your own.
I also installed original AMG badge on the trunk lid. I'm not trying to claim or fool anyone that this is E63 AMG, but since my car has the sports package and the wheels do you say AMG on them I thought this would be a nice touch. I left E550 badge on the car as well.
Sorry but I fall under the AMG poser police. I thought everything you were doing was great up till here and then you lost me.
I have 'AMG' wheels and the Sport steering wheel. But a car is not an AMG unless you have a handbuilt motor from Affalterbach.
To put the badge on it is pretending you have something you don't. But that your business. Just know that others will now assume you have a fake Rolex, your wife has a fake LV purse and that you tend to pose as something you aren't.

OMG... if people can read, everyone can see its a E550 because it has a "E550" badge on the trunk. No one is saying this is a AMG car. AMG police needs to go and patrol other parts of the forum and look for the real criminals that are actually are pretending and trying to fool ppl that they have AMG when they don't.
.... I guess I am going to have to grind off AMG text from my wheels that came stock on the car and any other AMG branding. Darn!
just to clarify things...i think its because that AMG badge represents an AMG car and not a "sports package" or "i have AMG wheels". so technically, by putting that AMG badge its like saying you have an AMG car.
I for one doesnt really care, you can put an M badge in there if it makes you happy. i dont really make a big deal out of this things but i guess youll get more praises without the badge.

i recently changed my interior lights to leds and footwell lights to blue. easy, cheap and reversible mods if youre interested.
I do want to, asked around and was told which bulb I need but I first need to take it apart from the back to find out if its just a simple swap out or not.
**UPDATE ON W205 STEERING SWAP**
So it appears that also I need to replace the steering wheel buttons for the ones from 2015 CLS. Placed an order for them yesterday and will swap out the steering column and buttons once buttons all arrives.

The man clearly said he is not representing his car as an E63. In fact, he still carries the E550 badge.
If the boys at AMG have no problem putting their logo on the wheels and TS is proud of his baby and wants to fly their flag well I guess you have to understand one thing...he isn't here to ensure you sleep well at night.

TS, has a stone cold stunner for a Benz and he made clear numerous times in the thread that he carries the E550 badge and guys still came in here to bust *****. That says a lot. Actually, that tells you everything you need to know.

Otherwise I think his car rocks and it's nicer than mine. Props for the steering wheel work. Thats not an easy job.
I didn't think so many people would get bent out of shape at expressing my 2 cents on it since he put up a post asking people what they think of his mods.
I guess I misunderstood and didn't realize he was only fishing for complements and not honest opinions.

I'm not bent out of shape about it and I was not fishing for compliments, just wanted to share my upgrades to maybe help others if they are interested in doing the same. This forum has been very informative and helpful to me so I wanted to share my experience and upgrades with others.
Thank you Tonycpa for seeing it the way it is, I agree with your point. I agree that some ppl take my AMG trunk badge too far and make it personal. I'm my case I don't think it needs to be taken that far. As mentioned before by me and Tonycpa, no one is claiming this is E63, this is still a E550 (end of story).

I really like your steering wheel! I went to the dealership before and asked about the steering wheel, but they told me that the latest steering wheel will not fit on the older models. Is that true? I own a 2012 GLK 350.
I don't know about the GLK since I own E class. I can tell you that dealer will never say that it will fit since they are not in the business of customization or retrofitting. As for the E-class the steering wheel did fit and it was an easy swap but buttons, horn and paddles do not work. Additional retrofitting is required to get those to work. From what I have learned I need to replace the steering wheel buttons with 2015 CLS buttons and also steering wheel column from face lifted W212. As soon as I have all the parts I will attempt it and let everyone know if issues have been resolved.
These trunk lips don't go all the way to the edge of the trunk lids, they are usually a bit narrower then the actual lid. I don't know.....the one I have might be 1 or 2 millimeters shorter... I have not had a chance to compare it to a factory lip.
