No, let me explain.
Mercedes-Benz stands for tradtion and automobile history, a Mercedes is supposed to be a car which brings you and your family from point A to point B in a safe and comfortable way.
Mercedes-Benz also stands for a typical european kind of luxury, it means that "to much" luxury is not allowed, then it becomes something else which calls bragging.
And bragging is definitely not European, it's not socially acceptable.
As a said before, almost all Mercedes here in the EU are small engines (180/200/220 and 250), and over 85% of all E class here in EU are Diesel.
A Mercedes is not something you buy for bragging, and thats why it is so ridiculous to see all this "american styling" on a E class.

I must be a strange Swed because I'm about to build a Ford GT40 Bailey Edwards Cars, the engine is a stroked 302 (347), when it is finished I will go around and draw black stretch with my expensive Toyo tires while I chew on a soft ice

Why would such a proud Swede use a German signature line?
Have you actually ever set foot in Germany and observed the cars on the road there?
Why do some Swedes regularly come to the US for opportunity?
Wouldn't the housing bubble history in Sweden be a symptom of capitalism?
What knowledge and credentials do you possess to call other car enthusiasts "white trash"?
This is funny.

1. the signatur: what do think?? it is of course a tribute to the country of where Mercedes-Benz come from, it was a stupid question.
2. It takes 4 hour by car, driving to Hamburg from my hometown in Sweden, maybe you should look at a map before you say stupid things.
I drive to Hamburg every second month..
And what about the cars there???, they drive the same cars as we do in sweden, what are you talking about???
The most common car there is vw golf and then a lot of other vw, audi, bmw, mercedes, ford, opel, peugeot, renault and other pretty normal cars for daily transportation.
And no, customized cars is not common in Germany, it is alsp very hard laws on styling, rim size, lamps, tuning/styling.
3. I dont know, there no need for that, we have all we need here in EU.
4. USA is very capitalistic country, to much capitalism is not good, capitalism is not only a good thing, america should learn more from europe.
5. american cars have a very bad reputation, new american cars does not exist at all, but threre are a little group of people who drives old american cars, in sweden we call them white trash/raggare - you can google the word "raggare" and look att the pictures, then you understand what i mean...

Let's see, in a 136 hp car with 16" wheels, that means you live about about 8 miles from Hamburg, right? Or maybe 7 miles if you account for the fact that the car is also brown.

Where are you really from? I do not believe you are Swedish at all. A pseudo-Swede perhaps, taking advantage of lax immigration policies. Maybe another boring conformist from Belgium who couldn't make it at home? And posting in the middle of the night, yeah, this adds up.
What is your background to call others "trash"? What makes you superior?
Funny tribute, pretty random and "stupid". A tribute, really? Or a wannabe German?
I spent the past month in Europe, half of that in Germany. I suspect I have seen more of the world than you. I was not surprised to see numerous American cars, not just Jeeps either. From Dodge pickups in the country to a Cadillac parked in front of the Asamkirche to a Chrysler cabrio in Geneva - American cars are not an especially unusual sight. And the low tuned cars with big wheels - AMG/M/RS cars are an everyday sight in any European city. Any non-"stupid" person who has experience would know this.
Plenty of Euros come to the US for opportunity, I work with them, may even be one of them. The US has plenty of faults, but Sweden does too.
Capitalism put that keyboard in front of you and that brown car in your garage. It has flaws, but it also has positive externalities.
Who is this "we" who calls the US car people "trash"? Please be specific, or refrain from such "stupid" statements. Thanks

Remind me again why the US should learn more from Europe.

You should have just posted this thought of yours (filled with bias and hatred) in the beginning so that we know who we are dealing with and can be out of this thread. Your eyes will see only what your mind wants to see. That's why you don't see what others see on the road. Good luck.

I smell some puerile miscue marks by the member who hates capitalism but drives a perfect capitalist car . If you hate capitalism drive an old Soviet junk or a Trabant
Have you ever heard of Essen Fair where the modifiers exhibit their products ? I am saying this because you say customization is not common in Germany.Customization is good but if you do it too much you could ruin the things ,just like a spice in meals . A food without spice is insipid but too much spice can spoil the food as well . This works in the same way as customization .
If capitalism is bad but expropriation , socialism is good why on earth that poor regime extinguished in the soils in which it flourished
USA is not the only country with capitalism , each regime has its own faults but that's not expedient place to talk about these

2013 Mercedes E350 Luxury
When I look at all the pictures here in this forum I see many nice Mercedes-cars, but.. I can also really see the difference in culture and mentality between Europeans and Americans..
Why does everything have to be so BIG in America, and why this mentality "look at me, look at me, my car is bigger than yours".... WHY???

Ok, last week I have read the car sales statistic for new cars in Sweden from last month, November:
35% of all new cars were German cars.
20% Swedish cars
15% French cars
.
.
.
. 0,4% American cars
We do not like american cars att all, it is many reasons why, first of all the americans killed Saab, and second - we do not like to big cars, a big Dodge Ram pick up would not be acceptable here in our sociaty, we do not need that kind of cars, it is just rediculos, such cars make no sense att all, it is only for bragging, I would be really ashamed to drive something like that..
American cars is also a kind of statement for extreme capitalism, here in the EU we have more solidarity in our community, not only beetween people, we have also a solidarity together whith our environment that tells us to not buy bigger engines than we need, thats also a reason why we buy smaller cars with smaller engines, for example more than 90% of all E class is four cylinder engines 200/220 diesel.
This is the way we like it
