Thinking about making the switch
Hello,
I currently have an W204 (08 C300 luxury) and I've been thinking lately about possibly upgrading to an E class. Family coming in soon so I need the extra space. But what also interested me the possibility of getting a V-8. My first car was an ML430 and I loved the V8 in that. So I thought I'd turn to you guys first to give some feedback on what I should be looking out for?
I found a few E550 around my area and was wondering if you guys can peek at them at let me know whatcha think. I'm not in any rush to get a new car, just looking for now.

I just want to say that if you do any amount of long distance driving (or even just short distances in traffic) I would STRONGLY encourage you to consider one with the distronic feature.
I take it for granted but whenever I drive my Volkswagen or a rental car it's shocking to me how many times I go to turn on distronic and then realize it's not there.
It is worth every penny unless your daily commute is

#1 white/black - I don't like that they chromed the wheels. Some of the switches are worn. Does have keyless go, no Pano roof.
#2 gray/gray - I don't like those wheels either, pretty cheesy, worse than the chrome. More miles, more $$. Similar in options, has keyless go, no Pano roof.
#3 gray/black - I prefer the all black interior, but not the lighter burlwood trim, so it's a toss up. This has a few less miles, and lower price, and I prefer the stock rims still on it. Looks like a couple more options too, like Parktronic, and yes, Distronic as you can see by the grille. It's also 4matic, so that would be a big factor if you deal with snow up there. By far the most options on this car and looks really clean.
#4 It looks like a blue/green paint color, but could be the lighting on a gray car??? If blue/green I don't personally like that at all. Has similar options to 1 and 2. It is a 2011 and all the others are 2010.
If I had to choose from that lot, I'd say easily #3 due to 4matic and other premium options, along with the stock wheels, and looks in general very good condition.
Be sure to check Carfax for damage and service history before considering any of them.

Here is 1 other private seller in your area. He says the original wheels are included. Price is probably more flexible from a private seller, and $30K asking is pretty high. No extra BS dealer doc and prep fees (aka pure profit). If you need financing, then go to any local credit union to work out the details, they will help you with private sale financing.
Miles are listed as "83" so if that means 83,000 that is a lot, and he's dreaming with that $30K price, more like $20K is realistic.

This one has low miles, same price range. Very few details. Wheels look maybe plasti-dip, could be removed. Possibly a rebuilt car due to low miles vs. all the others I see in your area.

This car was my runner-up to my recent purchase E550, if you care to drive back from Atlanta. I don't see many choices even within 500mi of Seattle.

Agree on the distronic, a must have if at all possible...same with P2. Good luck on the search

2010 E550 P2 w/AMG Sport Package + Pano, 2015 Nissan Pathfinder
Just taking a quick peek it appears that option #3 has the best of all worlds even though it has more miles then some of the others. I'd go with that one if I had to choose between the initial 4 you posted. Pano is a must for me. One question do all 2010 E550 come with Bi-Xenon lights that adapt when turning? I wasn't sure if it came on all or just some.

Good info as always. I guess I got lucky and the previous owner only had P1 but he added the light package. Thx
