Service bulletin/recall question
In my search for an E550 I have run across the faded Walnut Trim issue.
LI68.10-P-050415 - 212 burl walnut trim that is fading or discoloring and VIN is between A000988 to A291888 cause inadequate UV protection dealer will replace all trim under warranty.
One vehicle was 2011 that fell in this VIN group the other was a 12 that did not.
For this and any other "issue " that has one of these recalls the verbiage states
"Under Warranty". Does this mean once the 4/50000 has expired they won't cover. The 11 model,obviously is out or OMW but the fade was gross. How would your dealer address this problem.
Also for a VIN not in this group or dealer refuses to fix, anyone done this on their own dime and how much did it cost?

I believe CPO has covered this before, if available on the cars you're looking at, but if out of MB warranty completely, then you're out of luck.
I'm putting up for sale my complete set of light Burlwood trim from 2012 E550 if anyone is interested. Asking $1500 for a complete set; dash, console, doors, everything that is wood trim. It will be on Ebay soon, after I replace it with carbon fiber.
