It's a fact

They sale 2-3 Equus a month, and it is only one dealer in my area having Equus in lot. For example Lexus sales about 10-15 LS460, and perhaps 3-7 other Lexus daily.
Apparently Hyundai announced in Nov. that they have created Genesis Motors. First car will be Equus, rebadged as a G90. To soon be followed by Genesis sedan rebadged as G80. Later there will be coupe and SUV.
It will be interesting to see how this roles out. While separate dealerships may add to the "exclusivity" of Equus and Genesis, how will the dealerships be able to meet their costs without charging exhorbitant amounts for the few cars they sell and service?
Most "luxury" brand dealers today have several models available and a lot full of recent previously owned models. They also count on the high volume, lower cost models to spread operating expenses for sales and service costs.

I'm definitely purchasing something newer then what I have in 2016 but I doubt it will be a brand new (2016-2017) anything. I just don't see the value in it personally. I have narrowed down my options to a 2013 E550 or a 2014 S550 in which I'm heavily leaning towards the S550.

If I don't get either then I'm keeping my current E550 and getting a second car for myself to just play around with either like an older Mustang or something strictly to play with on off days etc.

El Cid. I could but they do not have much of a good reputation. I am pretty set for now. It has low miles still and she has much life left in it.

I bought a 2010 E350 CPO because I had the same feeling - that the W212 is one of those models that people will cherish over time. It may be the last "heavy" E Class. The W213 I believe will be lighter all around due to CAFE, and other concerns. My preference is for the Luxury design pre-face lift.

My other car is a near pristine 1996 C280. This model has very long legs ! People hold onto them and they always look in fashion. Quite a feat for a car that is now 20 years old. JMHO.

I must say I read there is going to be 2 styles of E class released this style I'm digging.
The 3 point star and grille did it for me.

I think there will be 3.

1) Base (the red car). Low key body styling, not quite luxury, not quite sport, sort of a rental car vibe to it. 18" kinda sporty wheels.

2) Luxury (your blue car), chrome grille and chrome body accents, hood ornament, ornate but conservative looking 19" wheels.

3) Sport. AMG appearance package, grille with star, no hood ornament, aggressive front fascia with large air inlets, lowered suspension, 19 or 20" wheels.

The lux and base will have a broader selection of the gentler interior colors, beiges and grays, and more wood trim options. Just guessing but if the C packaging is any indication that should be pretty close.

I do like the grille and the 3 point star and it seems it will be all I'll like on the upcoming w213.

This is one I would want. Looks classy like a Mercedes Benz should be.
