2011 E350 Bluetec Check Engine Light - Nox Sensor
The next day, the light came back on. Another trip to MB resulted in a sw upgrade, 25 mile road test, and another sensor replacement.
Just last night, the CEL turned on again. This is the 3rd time the light came on in my 4 weeks of ownership....looks like another trip back to MB. The Car has been in the shop longer than my garage.
I read about the AdBlue injectors being clogged and mentioned it to my service advisor but he claimed that was not the issue. Anyone else experience this many CEL /Nox sensor issues with their diesel? Any tips? Thanks!
Greg
I declined the +2yr extended CPO warranty at the time of purchase. However, after taking my car in twice with < 1mo of ownership I purchased the 2yr ext warranty from a friend's contact at a different MB ( for $1400 less than what they tried to sell it to me at the time of purchase).
Will take my car back in to MB this week for visit #3....

My vehicle spent 4 days at MB for further diagnostics and road tests. They replaced the last two NoX sensors and the Adblue Metering Valve. (all under the CPO Warranty). The CEL has not come back on since...even after driving 500+ miles. Fingers crossed that that was it....
I havent had any mechanical issues, however, there was a rattling in the rear deck. I think it's the sunshade but the dealer noted there were trim clips that were missing from the factory. They added those clips and for the most part the the noise is more temperature dependent. I'll continue to keep an eye....ummmm ear on it.
The prior owner has done the scheduled 10k services. The car had to get new tires, brakes, and battery to make it CPO ready. I had more cosmetic issues address (i.e. fading wood trim, worn front and trunk seals, a hump in the foam on the driver seat).
My MB (funny enough) came all the way from Hawaii to Texas, probably owned by a military member. I'm jealous, the car has traveled more than me! I had some oxidized trim replaced under warranty (i.e. the Star on the hood and the chrome window strip).
I'm coming up to my 40k service. They are going to replace the firewall liner under a TSB. I'm going to have them do the transmission service as required service. I'm including the differential and power steering flush just as a preventative measure.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Greg
