Besides Apple Music does it work for your regular music from iTunes library .
The unit can remember multiple phones, it will autoconnect to the last used device.
I have to connect as an "external" device everytime i want to stream from my iphone
i got a 2011 E class with comand NTG4
On the screen where you see your iphone, got to "options" and try to connect as an External device from there.
Option 1,
I went through the EM and was able to sync my phone as a BT Audio device. I ran into a problem where everytime i shut the car off, i had to go through the pairing process (authorize/unauthorize device, then pair the device) which became a bit too much for me to handle.
Solution: Dealership can/would upgrade the comand(sp?) software to allow my iPhone to connect/reconnect automatically. Free under warranty or costs about 400USD (2hrs of labor) if its out of warranty. or maybe free if you knew someone at the dealership or whatever.
second option (which i took/osugrad2x's recommendation plus a little bit of what i found out today)
I bought the adapter from amazon. Here are a few things that I found so far,
Its glitchy (wont mention everything TMI)
You will get the title of the track every once in a while 40/60 chance (netflix, youtube, pandora, spotify, music/itunes app) to me that wasn't that much of a big deal because I was worried about the audio and being able to sync my phone automatically after shutting the car off/on.
sometimes the titles are mixed up but controls still work. sometimes it just freezes (audio still plays) and you'll have to use your device (in this case iphone) to skip and stuff.
What i found out today( not sure why it took me this long),
You can sync your phone to both the Tuneair bluetooth adapter (for audio) and your car audio (for handsfree) and it will work just fine.

If you ask me the second option was way cheaper and much less of a headache to work with.

On a side note. Nice "Album" playlist right there
Yes it gets glitchy once you leave the music app and play music from other apps.
For the auto connect with both. I took one of the Amazon reviews notes. Turn the Benz bt option off. Connect the adaptor and connect your phone to it, it will connect to audio only. Now turn car bt back on and pair your phone.
From this point it should connect every time you get near the car to the adaptor and then the car as a phone when you turn car on. I like this cause the music starts playing when you get in as if you left the radio on, no waiting or button pressing.
I eventually turned the bt audio back off in EM because my phone stopped connecting as phone. Not sure what happened so I just went back to what works. The wife is happy as well.
Side note. I found a hardware option in EM to turn bt transceiver on, which was off by default. But turning it on didn't do anything but cause more erratic behavior.
