Just bought a e class 2013. Put sat nav on to get home, once in a place we knew tried to turn off sat nav as the voice was coming over radio. Couldn't turn it off. How do you do this once you know your destination?

 

I just hit the "Talk" button and say "Cancel route guidance". If anyone has other ways, I too would be interested.

 

You can hit the mute button when it's talking. That doesn't cancel the guidance, but it shuts it up. You could also select 'destination' and then 'cancel route guidance.'

 

As a general rule there's usually more than one way to do just about anything COMMAND related

 

Select "Destination" from the bottom of the nav screen and cancel should be your first choice.

 

Easiest way is to use the voice comand button and say: Cancel Route Guidance.

 

Yes, this is the way I do it, once you know the rest of the way to your destination. The voice button is less distracting than the joy wheel.

 

The system also responds go "cancel navigation"
